LEAVES AND FLOWERS:
Directions: Prepare as a tea - pour 12 oz of boiling water over 1-2 tsps of herb. Cover and steep for 5- 10 minutes. Strain & serve
TULSI Ocinum tenuiflorum
Tulsi is a heavenly adaptogenic herb that makes delicious teas, tinctures and elixirs. The lore around tulsi is extremely beautiful and speaks to the holy nature of this "sacred basil." As a tonic, tulsi builds energy, is uplifting to the spirit, and brings a sense of wholeness and well-being. Tulsi, besides having a delightful flavor, is also good for releasing anxiety and acts as an anti-inflammatory. Externally it can be used to make fantastic hydrosols, spritzers, or skin washes. Its aromatics are refreshing and ease feelings of debilitation and exhaustion. It s antimicrobial properties help to tone and heal the skin.
CALENDULA Calendula officinalis
Calendula blossoms are used both internally and externally. Not only does calendula promote cellular healing, it is also antiseptic and antimicrobial which is why it is a favorite for both first aid kits and cosmetics. Used in topical applications such as liniments, salves, oils, creams and serums. Calendula can also be used antibiotically to clean wounds and is often pared with spilantes, myrrh and pepermint to use as a mouthwash. Internally, calendula is excellent for tonifying the lymphatic system and flushing toxins. A cooling herb that has anti-inflammatory and bitter properties and can be taken in tea or tincture form.
MILKY OATS Avena sativa
Milky oats are mucilaginous and help to reduce inflammation and irritation. Oats also provide much needed nutrients for people who are feeling depleted and run down. Oats contain soluble fiber, a protein known as avenalin, calcium, and silica, all very useful for the nerve, adrenal and cardiac health. Not only do they work directly on these systems, but oats also help to revitalize and restore the whole body, providing nourishment, and have been used in formulation to treat depression, exhaustion and extreme anxiety. Oats are excellent for children, elders, and people recovering from debilitation illness. Can be used in baths, teas and tinctures.
ST. JOHN'S WORT Hypericum perforatum
A popular herb used as a cure-all remedy for many health issues. Unlike other herbal treatments, many of its health benefits have been verified by the scientific community and its herbal supplements are commonly prescribed by medical professionals. Perhaps its most well-known effect is its anti-depressant nature as well as its ability to relieve anxiety, ease addictive tendencies, regulate hormone activity, protect against viral infection, reduce inflammation, and soothe the nervous system.
ELDERFLOWER Sambucus canadensis
Elderflower with its sweet, floral flavor has long been used in herbal medicine to treat cold and flu symptoms, control blood sugar and as a diuretic. Studies have found anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and anti-diabetic effects. Elder has been known to reduce mucus membrane swelling, promote drainage, alleviate headaches, and reduce nasal congestion. Enjoyed as a tea, elderflower is high in vitamin C and antioxidants. Used in a topical salve or cream elderflower is useful for skin irritation and arthritic discomfort.
LEMON BALM Melissa officinalis
Lemon balm is a very special member of the mint family. It has nervine properties that can reduce nervous tension, relieve agitation, and help the body relax. It is also very uplifting and soothing to the spirit. Lemon balm is highly aromatic and pleasant tasting and is a favorite for teas, tinctures and cordials. Besides being totally delightful, lemon balm has antiviral and antimicrobial properties and is a good source of vitamin C. It is often used in healing protocols to treat cold sores and fever blisters and to fight infection. Underneath its wonderful lemony taste, lemon balm also has slightly bitter attributes and is antispasmodic making it a excellent treatment for gastric upset.
CATNIP Nepeta cataria
Catnip tea is most commonly used to treat nervousness and anxiety along with other symptoms these conditions can cause such as insomnia and indigestion. Used as a diuretic, it is known to increase urination and thus decreasing water retention. Catnip tea has been historically used to treat arthritis, coughs, hives, fevers, and viruses. Catnip's biggest health benefit is the calming effect that it can have on the body. Catnip tea can stimulate uterine contractions which can help bring on menstruation and may also help the passing of the placenta following childbirth.

VALERIAN Valeriana officinalis
Valerian was historically used to treat epilepsy, sleep disorder, anxiety, headaches, asthma, joint pain and hot flashes. Today herbal practitioners continue the use of the herb as it has shown to improve sleep, reduce anxiety, control hyperactivity, a decrease in menopausal symptoms, improve heart rate, treat restless leg syndrome, improve OCD symptoms, prevent dizziness and is used in treatment for drug and alcohol addiction.
ELECAMPANE ROOT Inula helenium
Elecampane root is most commonly used to break up and move mucus that causes respiratory issues. The herb eases pain stemming from lung diseases such as asthma, bronchitis, COPD and whooping cough. Because of its carminative, anti-spasmotic, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, elecampane can also be used to soothe nausea, gas and diarrhea
DANDELION ROOT Teraxacum officinalis
Dandelion is a highly nutritious plant loaded with vitamins, minerals and fiber. The root of the dandelion is rich in the carbohydrate inulin, a type of soluble fiber that supports the growth of healthy bacterial flora in the gut. Dandelion contains high levels of antioxidants and improves insulin secretion from the pancreas, reducing blood sugar levels as well as lowering cholesterol, blood pressure and protects the liver tissue in the presence of toxic substances and stress.
TURMERIC ROOT Curcuma longa
Turmeric has been used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine and traditional Chinese medicine to treat conditions such as skin disorders, respiratory problems, joint pain, and digestive disorders.
